Driver Eligibility: Driving eligibility depends on the driver’s age and how long they’ve held a license. Requirements vary by vehicle group and are available on our website or by request.
Accepted Licenses: Licenses from the EU, EEA, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom are accepted. Licenses from other non-EU/EEA countries are accepted only if the renter’s passport has no visa, or if less than six months have passed since their entry into the EU/EEA. After six months, a valid EU, EEA, UK, or Swiss license is required.
License Language Requirements: Non-Roman script licenses must be accompanied by an international driving permit or an official English translation from a certified source.
Verification Rights: PABLO Car Rentals may delay or refuse handover if there are concerns about identity, license validity, or creditworthiness until the issue is resolved.
Authorized Drivers: Only drivers listed in the rental agreement may drive. Additional drivers must be declared in advance and present a valid license. An additional fee applies.
Corporate Rentals: Companies must ensure all assigned drivers hold valid licenses and meet national driving requirements.
Driver Responsibility: Renters are responsible for all actions of authorized drivers. Rental terms apply equally to all listed drivers.
Permitted Use: Vehicles must only be used on public, paved roads and in compliance with traffic laws. Driving lessons and training are not permitted.
Prohibited Use: Vehicles must not be used for racing, testing, off-roading, commercial transport, towing, illegal activities, or transporting hazardous materials. Subleasing is strictly prohibited.
Cargo Safety: All items transported must be properly secured to prevent injury or damage.
Territorial Restrictions: Use of the vehicle outside of Cyprus, including in Northern Cyprus (the Cyprus territory temporarily occupied by Turkish forces), is strictly prohibited.
Breach of Terms: Violation of any terms may lead to immediate contract termination without refund. Renters may be held liable for damages and additional costs.
Rental Fee Structure: The total rental fee includes the base charge, any selected extras or services, and applicable location surcharges. Extras may include one-way rental fees, fuel or charging costs, tolls (where applicable), accessories (e.g., child seats, GPS), delivery/collection charges, and admin fees.
Delivery, Collection & Fuel Charges: Delivery or collection fees apply if requested. If the vehicle is returned with less than a full tank, refueling charges will apply based on the current price list.
One-Way Rentals: If the return location differs from the pickup branch, this counts as a one-way rental. Unapproved returns to a different location may result in a service charge based on our current rental policy.
Fee Adjustments for Unauthorized Returns: If the renter proves no or minimal cost was caused by the unauthorized return location, the service charge may be waived or reduced. Additional damage claims remain unaffected.
Payment Due Date: The full rental fee—including extras, surcharges, and VAT—is due at the start of the rental. No refunds are issued for late pickup or early return. Prepaid bookings must be paid at the time of reservation.
Long-Term & Prepaid Rentals: For prepaid rentals abroad, PABLO Car Rentals often acts as the payment processor. Rentals over 28 days require upfront payment every 29 days. Any balance from an early return must be paid at drop-off.
Invoicing Method: Invoices are sent electronically to the email address provided by the renter and are legally valid. Paper invoices are available upon written request, with postage and admin costs covered by the renter.
Invoice Delivery Responsibility: Renters must ensure they can receive electronic invoices. A digital invoice is considered delivered when it reaches the renter’s email system. Paper copies are issued only in case of ongoing technical issues.
Security Deposit: A security deposit is required at the start of the rental for some rental plans. The amount depends on the vehicle category and is listed in our rental terms or available by contacting us. Deposits are not kept separately and do not earn interest.
Payment Method & Authorization: Rental fees and deposits are charged to the renter’s payment method — usually a credit or debit card. In some cases, a hold is placed on the card instead of a direct charge.
Late Payment Consequences: Failure to pay on time may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement. For rentals longer than 27 days, missed or partial payments can also lead to cancellation and immediate vehicle return without notice.
Third Party Insurance: Third party insurance is included in the rental price of all vehicles at no extra cost. A deposit is required: €1000 for standard vehicles and €2000 for convertibles. No excess is charged if the accident is not the renter’s fault. However, if the renter is found to be at fault, they are responsible for 100% of the damage. It is important to note that total loss of the vehicle is not covered under any insurance plan. PABLO Car Rentals provides third-party liability insurance coverage for authorized drivers and passengers in the event of bodily injury or loss of life, with coverage up to €38,600,000, and for material damages up to €1,300,000. This insurance coverage is strictly limited to incidents occurring within the territory of Cyprus.
Optional Insurance Packages: To enhance your protection, PABLO Car Rentals offers three additional insurance options:
• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is available for €12 per day. This coverage includes accidental damage to the rental vehicle, covering body panels, lights, wheels/trims, and bumpers. The renter is responsible for an excess of €250 to €300, depending on the car class, while insurance covers damage up to €2000. CDW does not cover damage to tires, glass, roof, or the underbody. Total vehicle loss is also excluded.
• Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) is available for €17 per day. It includes all CDW benefits with the addition of windscreen protection. This package comes with zero excess—the renter pays nothing in the event of covered damage (up to €2000). However, tires, glass (excluding the windscreen), roof, and underbody are not covered. Total loss of the vehicle remains excluded.
• Tyre & Window Insurance (TWI) costs €8 per day and covers damage to tires and windows.
Important Insurance Limitations: Insurance coverage is subject to strict limitations. Driving the vehicle off-road, on dirt tracks, rough terrain, or non-asphalted roads voids all insurance. Crossing into the area under Turkish occupation is strictly prohibited, and insurance is not valid beyond the Republic of Cyprus. Turkish insurance sold at the border does not apply to rental vehicles, and renters will not be protected in case of damage or theft beyond legal boundaries.
Insurance becomes null and void if the vehicle is driven by someone not named in the rental agreement or by a person without a valid driver’s license. The vehicle may not be used for motorsports, races, speed tests, driver training, commercial passenger transport, sub-renting, transporting hazardous materials, or for towing or pushing other vehicles or objects.
Accidents & Responsibilities: In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately inform PABLO Car Rentals (WONDERVALUE LTD) and, if necessary, notify the police to obtain an official report. Only the agreed excess amount, depending on the selected insurance plan, will be charged provided the correct procedures are followed. The renter is fully responsible for transporting goods securely. Any damage caused by improperly secured items will be the renter's responsibility. Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other illegal substances voids all insurance coverage.
Traffic Violations & Fines: The renter is fully liable for any traffic violations, fines, or penalty points incurred during the rental period. This includes, but is not limited to, speeding, illegal parking, and other traffic offences. Any such charges will be passed on to the renter.
Rental Agreement Terms: All insurance coverage and rental terms apply only to the driver(s) listed in the rental contract, during the specified rental period, and for the designated vehicle category. The full terms and conditions of the rental agreement always remain in effect. Insurance does not cover lost keys; in such cases, the renter must pay the full cost of replacement. Additionally, minor damage claims may incur charges up to €200, even when insurance coverage is active.
Emergency Response: In case of an emergency, accident, theft, fire, animal collision, or damage, the renter or driver must immediately contact the PABLO Car Rentals emergency line and notify local police. This applies even to minor incidents or single-vehicle accidents.
Incident Reporting: All damage, theft, or loss must be reported to PABLO Car Rentals in writing without delay. Renters must complete an accident report form with details of the event, including location, time, and parties involved.
Cooperation Obligation: The renter or driver must assist fully in investigating any incident by providing complete and truthful information. They must remain at the scene until required facts are established or PABLO Car Rentals has been informed.
Company Responsibility: PABLO Car Rentals is liable only in cases of intentional misconduct, gross negligence, injury, or essential contractual breaches. In all cases, liability is limited to foreseeable, typical damages.
Loss of Personal Belongings: PABLO Car Rentals is not responsible for any personal property left in the vehicle after return.
General Responsibility: The renter and any authorized drivers are liable for damage, loss, or breaches of the rental agreement, except when they are not at fault.
Optional Protection Packages: Liability may be reduced by purchasing protection packages or a contractual liability waiver. These limit financial responsibility to the agreed deductible unless damage is caused by intent or gross negligence.
Exceptions to Coverage: Protection packages do not apply if the renter deliberately breaches contract duties—especially those in the “Accidents and Theft” section. Grossly negligent violations may reduce coverage unless the renter proves otherwise.
Traffic Fines & Misuse: The renter is fully liable for traffic fines, legal violations, and misuse. PABLO Car Rentals may charge an administrative handling fee unless lower costs are proven.
Definition of Accident: An "accident" refers to sudden, external, mechanical impact. Operational errors, loading issues, or damage without external force do not qualify.
Toll and Fines Responsibilities: The renter must pay all tolls and traffic fines incurred, including those caused by additional drivers. PABLO Car Rentals will seek reimbursement for any unpaid tolls.
Authorized vs Unauthorized Drivers: Liability waivers and protection packages apply only to named, authorized drivers. Unauthorized use voids all coverage.
Cyprus Insurance Compliance: All rentals are subject to Cyprus insurance legislation (Ο περί Μηχανοκινήτων Οχημάτων (Ασφάλεια Υπέρ Τρίτου) Νόμος ΚΕΦ.333).
Joint Liability: If multiple renters are listed, all are jointly and severally liable for the rental and any claims.
Contract End & Condition: The contract ends at the agreed return time. The vehicle must be returned to the agreed location in proper condition. Excess dirt, odor, or soiling will result in a cleaning fee. Early return without notice may forfeit a refund.
Data in Vehicle Systems: Navigation and mobile data may be stored in the vehicle. Renters should reset systems to factory settings before return. Instructions are provided in the glove box.
Discounted Rate Conditions: Special rates apply only if the full rental period is completed. If shortened or extended, the standard rate will be charged retroactively.
Failure to Return on Time: If the vehicle or keys are not returned on time, a usage fee and administrative fee will be charged based on current rental info. Additional compensation may also apply.
Mileage Limit Breach (28+ Day Rentals): If the rental exceeds the agreed mileage by over 100 km, a €500 penalty (incl. VAT) applies. Additional damages may also be charged but offset by the penalty. A replacement vehicle will be provided if limits are reached.
Failure to Return Without Cause: If the vehicle is not returned on time without valid reason, an additional €500 penalty applies. Further damages may be pursued if applicable.
Early Vehicle Recall: PABLO Car Rentals may request early return for valid reasons (e.g., recalls, servicing). A replacement vehicle will be offered. Refusal or delay may result in contract termination and compensation claims.
Minimum Fuel: Vehicles must be returned with at least 40 km of fuel remaining.
Right to Terminate: Both parties may terminate the rental agreement in accordance with applicable laws. PABLO Car Rentals may also terminate the agreement without notice if there is a valid reason. Justified reasons include (but are not limited to): significant deterioration of the renter’s financial situation, bounced payments or failed bank transactions, enforcement actions or legal proceedings against the renter, failure to properly maintain or care for the vehicle, illegal or improper vehicle use, violation of transport or traffic regulations, any situation making continued rental unreasonable (e.g., repeated or serious vehicle damage).
Multiple Agreements: If multiple rental contracts exist between the renter and PABLO Car Rentals, the company may terminate all active contracts without notice if one is terminated for cause and it is unreasonable to maintain the others. This includes cases of bad faith, such as: intentional damage to a rental vehicle, attempting to hide or conceal damage, deliberate harm to the company, payment overdue by more than one week and at least five working days, using a rental vehicle for criminal activity, if the rental agreement is terminated, the renter must immediately return the vehicle along with all relevant documents, keys, and accessories to PABLO Car Rentals without delay.
Obligation to Return: Upon termination of the agreement, the renter must immediately return the vehicle, including all keys, documents, and accessories, to PABLO Car Rentals without delay.
Payment Authorization: The renter grants PABLO Car Rentals and any authorized collection agent’s irrevocable permission to charge all rental fees and related costs to the payment method provided at the time of booking—or any method supplied later.
Offset Restrictions: The renter (or any authorized driver) may only offset claims against PABLO Car Rentals if such claims are undisputed or legally confirmed by a final court decision.
